I have read the last couple messages from our Kings and Headhunters. In the last few months, five months actually that I have been Clan Leader. Since then let me count how many “Actual Wars” that the TEC clan actually had to declare war. Hmmm! ahhh! ok guys and gals.  [P☼L] Poland First to Fight and [LAW] LAW Enforcement Team and the FF clan declared war on us.
Those have been in the last month.

I have been in TEC for 1 year now. We as TEC clan have declare war on other clan(s) if my memory recalls correct 5 times.When Aladonna and Going Grey were clan leaders. We have had other minor clan wars. yes! They declare war on us. Clan(s) with maybe 1 member,and other with a bunch of noobe’s.

Is it maybe the leader is not seeing what is needed or am I not just hearing anyone speaking up from the ruling council. As the leader I have to be the dipomat,secretary,and paymaster,ect.
You guys are the leaders now. Maybe all of you need to step up. I did! Look where it put me. Did I want to be leader of TEC,not really. Maybe some of the Ruling council need to help out more with the noobes,instead just doing there own thing. Including myself. Not only the ruling council. The other ranked players too! Rank player as meant by bishop,knight,rooks.

Come on people things do change. Let move on. Lets make TEC better. I know we miss the people that first help us in the game of Dark Orbit. All the Kings and Headhunter have really done a great job. Decks mention about declining app(s) to TEC. Which these applicants do not read our intro to join. What is the first thing they see.

Another great week with The The Emerald Circle clan in Dark Orbit.  The Halloween weekend went very well. VRU with alot Ep and Xeno collected from space pumkins. Spaceball was won by VRU 2 to 1. Great job VRU. Invasion gate we finish 3rd…next time guys.

Sorry last couple weeks I have not posted anything because my computer was in the repair shop receiving a new mother board and clean hard drive.

TUESDAY NIGHT FIGHTS: ALIENS BEWARE!
This Tuesday night, Decks-o-Gold is organizing group game quest battles.  The goal of this time together is to help all TEC members level up by working on quests together. We will work on BKs, big Lords, cubes, timed quests and go after that elusive uber BK or what ever else we need to go after to complete quests.  Load up your nastiest quest, gather together, and help eachother finish those quests and gain experience together!

We will take turns on kills to gain exp and credit while also refining circling techniques to allow you to better succeed in this game while others are not around to hunt with. At first I would like to keep this a TEC exp night only to allow us to get to know each other better while in the game. As we get this exp night moving we will open up to other players that would like to join TEC. This will allow all of us to interact with future TEC members and welcome them to the clan when they apply. During this time we will not be hunting other company players, so leave your enemy player quests for Cohy’s Thursday raids.

GSC is helpful and the chat makes circling aliens seem so much less boring!  If you would like to use it but do not have a mic installed, use it anyway and listen to us make fools of ourselves! This will probably be a regular event, so watch your clan mail for announcements!

LAST WEEK’S CLAN QUEST: Easy Experience
Last week’s clan quest was gaining experience, with any member who doubled their experience receiving a bonus (yes, easiest for the newest of players to achieve!) Two members doubled their experience over the prior week: Lt.Miller96 and IaMDeCeiVeD! Congrats!  Both received a bonus of $5 million credits!  Scsidog gained the most experience points this week – 48,918,134, which, by the way, happens to break the clan record for most experience points gained in a week previously set by Cohy (48,417,778 – betcha didn’t know you were a clan record holder, Cohy!).  Scsidog has donated his earnings back to the clan, so I paid his bonus of $5 million credits to the clan member who gained the next most experience this week: Decks-o-Gold, who gained 24,865,680 points. As a clan, we gained a total of 175,060,294 experience points – very nice!! The Clan Bank Balance had $160 million available to pay out on this quest, so we paid out 2.2 credits for each experience point earned (one of our highest payouts in a very long time – good job with paying taxes ya’ll!) Your ending numbers and payouts are listed below.

THIS WEEK’S CLAN QUEST: Challenge the Experience
Ya, I know, gaining experience clan quests are boring, but honestly, they take the least amount of time to administer for me, and I’ll be busy with last-minute stuff getting my house ready to sell, plus lots of time with the lawyer trying to fight the mortgage company’s fraud *sigh*.  Anyway, this week, the clan quest is to gain as much experience as possible.  We will pay a special bonus to any clan member who gains MORE THAN ten million experience points over the course of the week.  This quest will end Monday night, September 7th. Your starting experience numbers are listed below.  Happy hunting!

Scsidog’s amazing experience gain this week gave me an idea for a new Clan Challenge: Beat Scsidog’s new record and the clan will pay out a special bonus!  So any member who gains more than 48,918,134 experience points during this week’s clan quest will earn a special bonus – and it won’t be just five million credits *grins*   I will continue offering this Clan Challenge each week, until it is beat!

Last week we declared a “Tax Holiday” and didn’t have a clan quest, instead, lowered the tax rate to 3% for the week.  I have taken half the clan bank balance after bonus payouts and am doing a mini-clan-paycheck based on the experience earned for the week to all eligible members, as shown below.  Because my spreadsheet crashed, I lost two members experience numbers for last week (Baseball and Skyrider) so I’m giving both of them $1,000,000 each. I must start backing up the spreadsheet better *grins* Anyway, enjoy the bonus bucks!

Boosters

When hunting enemy ships, consider using only the following boosters: Shield Booster (25%), Hitpoint Booster (10%), and Damage Booster (10%). There is one interesting side effect to note when using boosters: the stronger your initial position, the more value the booster gives you. Here are the effects using damage boosters:

1x ammo (no promerium) with booster = 1.10x
1x ammo (with promerium) = 1.30x
1x ammo (promerium) with booster = 1.43x
2x ammo (no promerium) with booster = 2.20x
2x ammo (with promerium) = 2.60x
2x ammo (promerium) with booster = 2.86x
3x ammo (no promerium) with booster = 3.30x
3x ammo (with promerium) = 3.90x
3x ammo (promerium) with booster = 4.29x
4x ammo (no promerium) with booster = 4.40x
4x ammo (with promerium) = 5.20x
4x ammo (promerium) with booster = 5.72x

So the booster value for an FE Goli (4.8k Damage 1x) ranges from 0.48k additional damage to 2.5k additional damage.

It is interesting to note that 3x ammo with promerium is almost the same as 4x ammo without promerium! Further, 3x ammo with promerium AND boosters can be almost 30% better than 4x ammo without promerium or boosters. If the fight between relative equals using the same ammo with one being a promerium user and the other being a booster user, it is clear that promerium wins by a lot!

Like ammo, adding boosters to rockets gives the best results for the best rockets. Here are the damage booster effects for rockets:

1k Rocket (no promerium) with booster = 1.10k
1k Rocket (promerium) = 1.30k
1k Rocket (promerium) with booster = 1.43k
2k Rocket (no promerium) with booster = 2.20k
2k Rocket (promerium) = 2.60k
2k Rocket (promerium) with booster = 2.86k
4k Rocket (no promerium) with booster = 4.40k
4k Rocket (promerium) = 5.20k
4k Rocket (promerium) with booster = 5.72k

Thus, the value of the booster ranges from 0.10k additional damage to 0.52k additional damage.

If a FE Goli Premium Player with the auto-rocket chip (PAFE from now on) attacks with 3x ammo and 4k rockets, he/she will generate 22.5k damage per second.

Shield Boosters
Unlike the damage booster, the shield booster gives a stronger effect than using promerium (20%). To get 60 minutes of promerium based shield enhancement takes 60 promerium which costs 6 xeno at 10 Uri per xeno = 60 Uri equivalent per hour. So 1 days additional protection costs 24 (hours per day) x 60 (uri per hour) = 1,440 uri verus 10k uri for the booster. Here are the shield booster effects for an FE Goli in speed mode using 190k shield points as a standard:

Standard with promerium = 228 shield points
Standard with booster = 285 shield points
Standard with both = 342 shield points

Using both promerium and shield boosters almost doubles (1.8x) the shield value, making it possible to take on both an FE Goli and an FE Venge or an FE Goli and a near FE Goli or 3 weak Golis. This is a very powerful effect and I believe worth the high cost.

Hitpoint Boosters
A hitpoint booster increases the amount of hitpoints your ship can take by 10%. The hitpoint booster does NOT increase the amount of hitpoints damage you do!! The value of this booster increases with the hitpoints of your ship. Thus different ships get different value using the booster. Here are the booster effects for all ships:

Phoenix (4k)——-with booster = 4.4k
Yamato (8k)——–with booster = 8.8k
Defcom (12k)——-with booster = 13.2k
Liberator (16k)——with booster = 17.6k
Piranha (32k)——–with booster = 35.2k
Leonov (64k)——–with booster = 70.4k
Nostromo (64k)—–with booster = 70.4k
Big Boy (128k)——with booster = 140.8k
Vengeance (180k)–with booster = 198.0k
Goliath (256k)——-with booster = 281.6k

The value of the booster for each ship type is given below:

Phoenix —– = 0.4k
Yamato —– = 0.8k
Defcom—— = 1.2k
Liberator—– = 1.6k
Piranha—— = 3.2k
Leonov——- = 6.4k
Nostromo—– = 6.4k
Big Boy——- = 12.8k
Vengeance—- = 18.0k
Goliath——- = 25.6k

So if attacked by a PAFE Goliath this means

Goliath =1.10 additional seconds of life
Vengeance =0.80 of additional seconds life
Big Boy =0.56 seconds of additional life
Nostromo =0.29 seconds of additional life
Leonov =0.29 seconds of additional life
Piranha =0.15 seconds of additional life
Liberator =0.07 seconds of additional life
Defcom =0.05 seconds of additional life
Yamato =0.04 seconds of additional life
Phoenix =002 seconds of additional life

It is clear that ships below the Vengeance have almost no net benefit and should never buy this booster.

GAME NEWS

• A new server has been opened up, everyone starts at zero, which is very cool!. The new server is Global America 2.
• A new galaxy gate has been added to Dark Orbit, called the Delta Gate.  So far, I don’t have any details on it, but I suspect it is four times as tough as the Alpha gate!

REGARDING TEC1/2
Esmerala has gone game inactive, so TEC1/2 is now leaderless.  Because it is just too much work to expect anyone to lead or play a leadership role in two clans, the decision has been made to just let TEC1/2 fade away.  All current TEC1/2 members are being invited to move over to TEC, regardless of their current rank (there is like 7 of them), and their applications will be automatically approved by any TEC member who has authority to approve applications.  Please if you see any TEC1/2 members in the game, ask them to leave TEC1/2 and apply to TEC, and be sure to mention in their clan app that they are a TEC1/2 member.  TEC1/2 members will have their $50,000 clan app fee reimbursed immediately, and get the $200,000 clan sign-up bonus without the usual 7-day waiting period.

LAST WEEK’S CLAN QUEST RESULTS: Keeping it Simple
Last week’s clan quest was experience gained, with a bonus to the three clan members who gained the most experience.  I extended the quest through today, Wednesday, for those members who were active in the clan quest. 

The top three were Badcall who gained 33,638,941, CatDaddy who gained 25,288,476, and Scsidog who gained 21,076,278.  Badcall donated his earnings back to the clan, CatDaddy donated half his earnings to IamDeceived (WELCOME BACK!), and Scsidog wanted to donate his credits back but I refused because I can see he’s a wee bit on the low side this week *grins* 

As a clan, we gained a total of 171,296,737 experience points.  The clan bank balance for this quest is 89,166,246, which after member donations works out to .66 credits per experience point gained.  Here are the results and payouts:

THIS WEEK’S CLAN QUEST: Tax Holiday!
I’m beyond belief swamped with cleaning up all the damage from the tornado that touched down a few miles from my home (broken branches everywhere!!), so I decided that we will not have a clan quest this week.  Instead, we’ll do another tax holiday, and set the clan’s tax rate to 3% for the rest of the week.  I’ll announce the next clan quest next Monday.

OOPS!!
Hey ya’ll, if you see BlackEye in the game, tell him to reapply to the clan.  I deleted him from the clan by mistake.  I was trying to delete BlackEagle for inactivity since he hasn’t played in over five weeks, their names look an awful lot alike in the clan page and BlackEye got removed from the clan by mistake.  Please if you see him, chat with him, let him know what happened and tell him to rejoin the clan – besides, he’s got bonus credits coming his way!

REMINDER: DO NOT beg, ask, plead, or whine for credits!!  Clan payday is every Monday! (sometimes I pay out early on Sunday, when time permits).

SUMMER GAMES SPECIAL CLAN BONUSES
In celebration of Dark Orbit’s Summer Games 3, TEC is going to offer a few bonuses to its members.

First, any clan member who gets their name on the Summer Games 3 Daily Ranking list will earn a special bonus.  I’ll check each weekend to see if anyone is listed, but do feel free to drop the entire clan a message sharing the news that you made the daily ranks!  This special bonus quest will run through the end of the Summer Games.

Next, if a TEC member ends up being the Grand Champion of the Summer Games, the ENTIRE CLAN will get a bonus!  (Bonus to be announced!)

And finally, if THREE different clan members, JUST THREE, manage to make the daily rankings at least once, then we will have a clan Tax Holiday for the month of September, the clan tax rate will be just 3% for the entire month.

So get out there and jump into the fun of the Summer Games!

King Cohy runs the weekly hunting and raiding party every Thursday.  The raid occurs at 1pm Pacific time (that’s California time). 1pm WT. 2pm MT 3pm CT 4pm ET. Meet at the top left port of 3-1. CLAN KUDOS & BONUSES
We’ve changed the bonuses again – for now, the only bonus we are paying out is the Level Up bonus and the current Summer Games bonus.  We’ll add additional bonuses in the future, but for now, we’re just going to have these bonuses available.

REMINDER: You DO NOT need to write me or anyone else asking for your level bonus.  It will be automatically paid by me when I do the clan payouts each Sunday or Monday night.

There is still one clan member being paid for the Rack up the Ranks quest from early April.  I did the latest payout today as follows:

SURPRISE! MINI CLAN PAYDAY
Since we didn’t have a clan quest this week, we’re going to do a mini-clan bonus payout to all members who gained at least ONE experience point this week.  Despite the lower tax rate for the week, after paying the normal level-up bonuses, our clan bank balance is around $39 million.  So I’m going to take about $29 million and redistribute to all clan members who were active this week, based on experienced gained over last week.  The clan tax rate has been reset back to our normal 5% tax rate. Works out to about .19 credits per experience point gained. Some members (BadCall, Scsidog, Cohy) have donated their credits back to the clan, so this is the payout for this mini clan payday!
