If you haven’t already noticed, you now LOSE the lock on an enemy when then (or you!) jump through a port, This makes it difficult when you are chasing an enemy – they jump through the port, you’ve lost the lock! But it can be an advantage, too – if someone is chasing you, just get to a port and jump and run, they won’t be able to easily chase you down because they no longer have the lock on you! This was a “feature” that was never intended to be in the game, and the programmers have removed it, By the way, this makes cooperative hunting ever more important – if you are attacking someone, be sure to have someone on the OTHER side of the gate you expect your target to jump through, that way they can target your enemy the moment they jump through, and finish them off or keep them engaged until you can re-engage and destroy,

NEWBIE CLAN

We are starting a “newbie” sister clan, tenatively it’ll be TEC2, probably named something like The Emerald City or something, not entirely sure yet, Esmerala will be leading the clan, This clan is where anyone who is a new player can join and learn the game, as they reach level 12, they will then be invited to join the mother clan of TEC, *ANY* current TEC member who would like to join the new clan is, of course, welcome to join it, We especially encourage our current members who are under level 12 to join the new clan, as it will have a lower tax rate and will likely continue to do (small) clan dividend payouts, plus have the ever energetic Esmerala leading it, you may be able to find a better support system there for learning the game, However, NO ONE is REQUIRED to join the new clan, it is entirely up to you,
Esmerala will be starting up the new clan with her second account, named Birdy, and it will start when Birdy reaches level 12, which should be sometime this week or next, Once the new clan is started, it will be open to pretty much any new Dark Orbit player who wants to join; feel free when you see people asking to join a clan to direct them to TEC2, However, do NOT recruit in the main game chat room – that will get you banned

Whenever you achieve one of the following goals, you will earn a bonus, as listed below! Several have already been paid out!
20,000 Alien Kills = $50,000,000 credits
1,000 Ship Kills = $50,000,000 credits
5,000,000 honor = $50,000,000 credits
These bonuses are open-ended, meaning, it doesn’t matter how long it takes you to reach any of these goals, These bonuses can also be multiplied, For example, you have 1,000 ship kills, you get a bonus, When you have another thousand ship kills (2,000 total), you will get another bonus, These bonuses are outside of our usual clan quests, When you reach one of these goals, just message me (GoingGrey) and once I verify it, I’ll send you the credits! These bonuses are not hard, but they ARE challenging, VERY challenging! Bonuses are based on the NUMBER of kills, not the rank points, by the way,
We will add more bonuses in the future, as we think of them, If you have any suggestions for additional bonuses, please let me know!

CLAN DIVIDEND

- THIS IS THE LAST CLAN DIVIDEND, WE ARE CHANGING TO A DIFFERENT PAYOUT SYSTEM – KEEP READING!
The Clan Dividend was paid out the evening of Friday, March 27th, (See complete list below!) Each ACTIVE clan member (40 this time) received $4,689,000 credits, Remember that the game takes 10%, so it will show as 10% less in your Log, How to double-check your dividend payout: The best way is to go to the main page, click CREDITS, then on the left side, click BALANCE, That is where you will find out your exact dividend amount,
Because of some abuse and also issues with fairness, along with the fact it’s getting really hard to manage with 50 people in the clan now, we are doing away with the clan dividend, This is the LAST clan dividend, Instead, we are now going to do WEEKLY CLAN QUESTS, New quests will be announced every Friday night, each quest will run through the following Friday, Payouts will be either Friday night or Saturday morning, depending upon how long it takes me to calculate payouts, The first of the new clan quests will be announced Sunday, March 29th, after the current clan quest ends, it’ll be a quick one, then we will be on the full schedule starting the next Friday, April 3rd,
The switch to weekly clan quests means payouts weekly, instead of every other week, It also rewards those who play the hardest, yet also permits those who can’t play as much due to real life the ability to earn credits just by simply playing, Hopefully, it’ll also cut down on all the whining begging give-me-credits messages I get everyday from a few players who expect handouts without working for it (you know who you are!) *grins*
